Bear's Ginger Sorbet

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 cups ginger ale or 4 cups ginger beer
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup ginger preserves
  • 2 tablespoons grated ginger
  • 1 pinch salt

Recipe

  • 1 heat 1 cup of the ginger ale with the sugar, salt and preserves over medium-low heat until dissolved.
  • 2 mix with remainder of ginger ale and the grated ginger in an air-tight container.
  • 3 refrigerate until thoroughly chilled (at least 4 hours).
  • 4 freeze in ice cream maker according to manufacturer's directions.
  • 5 place back into air-tight container and freeze overnight until hardened.
  • 6 one hour before serving, place in refrigrator to soften it up a bit.
