Apple Cobbler Topped With Cheddar Bisquick

Ingredients

- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/4 cup orange juice
- 3 medium apples, tart,pared and sliced
- 3 tablespoons roughly chopped walnuts (optional)
- 3 tablespoons raisins (optional)
- 3/4 cup bisquick
- 3 tablespoons shredded sharp cheddar cheese
- 4 tablespoons water
Recipe
- 1 pre-heat oven to 400 degrees.
- 2 mix in a saucepan the cornstarch, sugar, cinnamon, orange juice and 1/2 cup water.
- 3 add apples to the mixture, stir, and cook over low heat (stirring occasionally) for approximately 6 minutes (until liquid thickens and apples just begin to soften).
- 4 stir in walnuts and raisins (if desired) and pour into a 1 quart casserole.
- 5 mix bisquick and shredded cheese together.
- 6 add 4 tablespoons water and mix well.
- 7 drop spoonfuls of the bisquick mixture on top of apple mixture- then spread it to mostly cover the apple mixture.
- 8 bake until top is lightly browned- about 28 minutes.
- 9 serve as is (or top with ice cream or cream).
