Basil Syrup

Total Time: 6 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 1 min

Ingredients

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup fresh basil sprig, packed

Recipe

  • 1 bring sugar and water to a boil in a medium saucepan. boil, stirring often, about 1 minute or until the sugar is dissolved.
  • 2 remove from heat and add basil. cool completely, about 1 hour.
  • 3 pour into a glass jar, cover and refrigerate at least 24 hours.
  • 4 remove basil and discard. enjoy!
  • 5 note: to make mint syrup, use mint in place of basil.
