1776 Molasses Dumplings

Ingredients

  • Servings: 24
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 2 cups flour
  • 2 teaspoons fat
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda

Recipe

  • 1 mix-dumplings and roll to one inch thickness. cut with small cutter.
  • 2 drop 2 or 3 at a time in hot fat.
  • 3 have ready another kettle of boiling molasses, as soon as fried, drop into boiling molasses
  • 4 remove and drain.
