Banana Nut Bread (gift Mix In A Jar)

Ingredients

  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup walnuts, chopped
  • 2 ripe bananas, mashed
  • 1/2 cup solid shortening
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 2 eggs

Recipe

  • 1 creating the gift in a jar:
  • 2 wash and thoroughly dry a 1-quart wide-mouth canning jar.
  • 3 layer the ingredients in the jar as listed above starting with the flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt, sugar, and then walnuts - make sure to press firmly with a flat bottomed object after each addition; make the layers as level as possible.
