Black Eyed Peas In The Crock Pot

Ingredients
- Servings: 8
- 5 slices bacon
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 1/2 cup celery, chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 (14 ounce) cans black-eyed peas, drain liquid and rinse peas
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried parsley
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 bay leaf
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1 teaspoon paprika
Recipe
- 1 chop bacon into 1 inch pieces.
- 2 add to medium pan and cook until crispy. do not drain off the grease!
- 3 add onion, celery, and garlic to bacon and cook for 5 minutes.
- 4 add all of the ingredients from the pan including the bacon grease to crock pot.
- 5 add remainder of ingredients to crock pot.
- 6 cook on low for 2 hours or on high for 1 hour.
- 7 stir and serve on rice.
- 8 enjoy.
