Aloo Mutter - Indian Potatoes With Peas

Ingredients

- olive oil flavored cooking spray
- 1 teaspoon cumin seed
- 1/2 cup onion, chopped
- 2 medium tomatoes, cut into 1 inch pieces
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground red pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric
- 3 medium red potatoes, peeled, and cut into 2 inch squares
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 1 cup water
- 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1/2 teaspoon garam masala
Recipe
- 1 spray saucepan over medium-high heat.
- 2 add onion and stir fry for 1-2 minutes till golden brown.
- 3 stir in tomatoes, salt, ground pepper and turmeric, stir fry for 1-2 minutes till tomatoes are tender.
- 4 stir in remaining ingredients, except the garam masaala, boil, then reduce to medium-low. cover and simmer 5 minutes. uncover and cook for 5 minutes until sauce is thick.
- 5 add garam masaala.
