Basic Hummus

Total Time: 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 (15 ounce) can garbanzo beans, rinsed and drained
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/4 cup tahini (sesame seed paste)
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons pine nuts, toasted (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon snipped fresh parsley

Recipe

  • 1 in a blender or food processor combine the garbanzo beans, garlic, tahini, lemon juice, oil, and salt. cover and blend or process until smooth, scraping sides as necessary.
  • 2 spoon the hummus onto a serving platter. if desired garnish with pine nuts. sprinkle with parsley.
