Apple Pandowdy

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 40 mins

Ingredients

  • 6 apples, pared and cored
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 cup bisquick baking mix
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 tablespoon butter or 1 tablespoon margarine, melted
  • 1/4 cup milk

Recipe

  • 1 heat oven to 425*. place apples close together in greased oblong dish, 10x6x1-1/2 inches, or square pan, 9x9x2". sprinkle with water, 1/3 cup sugar and the cinnamon. heat in oven 20 minutes while preparing topping. stir remaining ingredients to a soft dough. gently smooth dough into a ball on floured board. knead 8-10 minutes. roll dough into a rectangle, 10x6 inches, and place over hot apples. cut a small crisscross in dough on top of each apple. bake 20 to 25 minutes.
