Blackberry Jam

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • 9 -10 pints blackberries (should make 9 cups crushed)
  • 6 cups sugar

Recipe

  • 1 clean, de-stem and crush blackberries.
  • 2 in a large stainless steal or enamel pot combine crushed berries and sugar.
  • 3 bring to a boil, stirring often until sugar is dissolved.
  • 4 cook to jell point, stirring often.
  • 5 remove from heat, skim off foam and ladle into clean hot jars.
  • 6 leave 1/4 inch head space.
  • 7 process in a boiling water bath for 10 minutes at altitudes up to 1000 feet.
