Best Low Fat Banana Bread

Ingredients
- 1 cup whole wheat flour
- 2 cups flour
- 3 teaspoons baking soda
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 1 1/2 cups sugar, divided in half
- 3 tablespoons butter, softened
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 6 egg whites
- 2 1/2 cups mashed bananas (about 7)
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened applesauce
- 3/4 cup low-fat plain yogurt
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 350 degrees f.
- 2 prepare 2 large loaf pans with non-stick spray
- 3 whisk together the dry ingredients including 3/4 cups sugar, set aside.
- 4 cream butter and remaining sugar until fluffy.
- 5 add the vanilla and the egg whites.
- 6 in a separate bowl combine bananas, apple sauce and yogurt.
- 7 add the banana mixture to the creamed mixture and beat together.
- 8 slowly mix in the dry ingredients.
- 9 pour into the prepared pans.
- 10 bake for 50-60 minutes until the top springs back or a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the middle.
- 11 remove the breads from the pans and let cool or eat while warm.
