Better Frizzled Cabbage

Total Time: 20 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 (16 ounce) bag coleslaw mix
  • 2 slices bacon, diced
  • soy sauce or teriyaki sauce

Recipe

  • 1 fry bacon in medium hot skillet until crisp.
  • 2 remove bacon from pan and pour off all but about 2 tablespoons of the drippings.
  • 3 add the cabbage to hot skillet and a bit of water to de-glaze the pan.
  • 4 reduce heat and cover pan.
  • 5 stir occasionally and cook until mostly wilted.
  • 6 turn the heat down to medium-low and let cook, stirring frequently, until cabbage is starting to caramelize (brown), about 10 minutes.
  • 7 do not let burn.
  • 8 add preferred sauce to taste, return bacon to cabbage and serve.
