Apple And Chocolate Pie

Ingredients
- pastry for a double-crust 9-inch pie, unbaked
- 6 medium apples
- 12 tablespoons granulated sugar (the pie is not extremely sweet, so if you're used to very sweet things or your apples are tart, don')
- 2/3 cup semisweet chocolate, pellets
Recipe
- 1 peel, core and quarter apples. slice very thinly.
- 2 place 1 layer of apple slices on the bottom crust. sprinkle with 2 tablespoons (or to taste) of sugar. repeat twice.
- 3 spread chocolate pellets over top.
- 4 with remaining apples, make 3 more apple/sugar layers.
- 5 top with 2nd crust and seal edges. make an incision on the top.
- 6 bake in preheated oven at 450f for 15 minutes, or until golden.
- 7 lower heat to 350f and continue baking for another 25-30 minutes, or until apples are tender.
