Baked Beans Balti

Ingredients

- 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 1 onion, peeled and chopped
- 1 green chili pepper, seeds removed and finely chopped
- 1/4 teaspoon garam masala
- 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1/4 teaspoon ground coriander
- 1 (14 ounce) can baked beans
Recipe
- 1 heat the oil in a small saucepan over a moderate heat and fry the onion for a couple of minutes.
- 2 add the chili and cook for a couple of minutes, stirring continuously, until the onion begins to turn golden brown.
- 3 stir in the spices and fry for a further minute, before adding the beans. reduce the heat and cook for 3 minutes.
- 4 taste and season with salt, if necessary. serve with hot chapattis, naan, pitta bread or toast.
