Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons honey 
- 1 tablespoon sugar 
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch or 1 tablespoon arrowroot 
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 
- 1 cup water 
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice 
- 3 cups fresh blueberries or 3 cups fresh blackberries 
- 1 cup whole wheat pastry flour 
- 1 teaspoon baking powder 
- 1 tablespoon sugar 
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda 
- 1/2 cup low-fat buttermilk 
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 400 degrees. 
- 2 in a large saucepan over medium heat, combine the honey, sugar, cornstarch or arrowroot powder, cinnamon, water and lemon juice. mix until smooth. 
- 3 add the berries and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes until thickened. 
- 4 combine the pastry flour, baking powder, sugar and baking soda in a medium bowl. add in the milk and stir until ingredients are combined. 
- 5 pour the filling into a nonstick casserole dish.
