Baked Apple Pie Jam

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 cups apples, heaping
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ginger powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 3 cups sugar
  • 2 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 (1 3/4 ounce) box dry pectin
  • 1 teaspoon butter

Recipe

  • 1 chop apples fine and place in a 4 cup measuring cup, ensuring they are heaping. add water (or apple juice) to the 4 cup line while the apples are still in the measuring cup.
  • 2 place apples, pectin, butter, lemon juice and spices into a pot and bring to a boil.
  • 3 add sugars and bring back to a full rolling boil, continue boiling for 1 minute.
  • 4 remove from heat and skim off any foam.
  • 5 ladle into sterilzed jars, leaving 1/4-inch space.
