7 Minute Frosting

Total Time: 7 mins Preparation Time: 7 mins

Ingredients

  • 4 egg whites
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla

Recipe

  • 1 combine egg whites, water, sugar, cream of tartar and salt in top of double boiler.
  • 2 set over simmering water and beat with an electric mixer for about 5 minutes
  • 3 until soft peaks are formed.
  • 4 remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  • 5 keep beating until frosting is stiff enough to spread. use immediately.
  • 6 plenty enough to fill and frost he 2-layer devil's food cake.
