Barbara's Apple Pie

Ingredients

- 8 cups apples
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon flour
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/8 teaspoon nutmeg

Recipe
- 1 peel, core, and slice apples thinly.
- 2 in a medium size bowl, mix apples with flour, sugar, and spices until no more dry ingredients remain.
- 3 add more sugar to taste, depending on tartness of apples.
- 4 at this point, the filling can be frozen in a zipper bag in a pie pan (to retain shape) to be used later.
- 5 put filling into prepared pie crust of your choice.
- 6 add top crust, making cut-outs or slashes for venting.
- 7 trim and crimp edges.
- 8 place a protective strip of aluminum foil around edge of crust.
- 9 bake in preheated 425 degree oven for 40 to 50 minutes.
